Usually, no. However, a backup is always recommended, depending on the device's condition.

How do original and compatible screens differ?

Should I turn on a water-damaged phone?

No. Do not turn it on or connect it to a charger. If safe to do so, switch it off, remove the SIM card, and bring it in for inspection as soon as possible.

What is checked after a battery replacement?
